When I was a child

I have loved handicrafts and sewing since I was a child, and I was very interested in threads and cloth.

When I was in elementary school, I lived in the city of Sapporo.

I went to play far away, picking up familiar grasses and flowers.

At that time, I never thought that I would make a work using natural materials after several decades.

After growing up

As soon as I graduated from high school, I worked in the daytime and learned dressmaking at a dressmaking school at night.

My interest in cloth was endless.

From around the age of 30, I spun yarn with a spinning wheel.

I learned knitting, gradually increased the types of yarn that can be spun and knitting techniques, and knitted practical clothing.

I learned various techniques such as felt and weaving, and the range of production expanded.

I make a shape that comes to my mind and express what I find interesting as a work.

About Artwork

Artwork theme is “pursuing comfortable things that make the best use of materials”.

I’m get the feel of something in my head and body.

Until now, I have expressed such things as “I want to weave a transparent woven fabric with a fishing line”, “I was interested in the shape memory of fibers and made it a work”, “A work that fills the fabric with perforation work”, etc. ..

People who see my works made using techniques that I find interesting will also come up with stories that are unique to them.

For that reason, I am aware that the simple shape does not allow me to put in a lot of thoughts.

About the “foot-shapes that evoke memories”

From December 2000 to 20 years, I knit 92 “very important foot” for people of various occupations, regardless of age or gender.

The foot are very important. People stand on their foot and walk to their destinations with their foot.

I will walk toward my future.

When making a “foot-shapes that evoke memories”, the fibers of the ramie are split into small pieces and made into threads.

From the sole of the foot, start knitting according to the model’s foot, and it takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes.

In the meantime, some people have various conversations, and some people only talk about the minimum necessary.

In my work, there is also a conversation with the model at that time.

However, those who see the work do not know what kind of conversation was exchanged, and I do not know how they feel when they see my work.
